A release I'd like to spotlight this week comes from Irish Rock band Florence Road, with their latest EP Spring Forward. This Ep, released March 27, pulls together a collection of songs about love, in the words of the band that 'lives in that space between love, loss and the slow realisation that not everything you lose was meant to stay.'

The release features four tracks, from top to bottom: Hanging Out To Dry, Miss , Rabbits can Swim, Storm Warnings.

Spring Forward is the second extended play by Florence Road since their debut EP Fall Back. 2026 is looking to be a big year for Florence Road as this release drops with 0 skips in my opinion, and a spot on tour with The Last Dinner Party.

'Hanging Out To Dry'

Track one 'Hanging Out To Dry' represents the bands signature sound.

with a blend of thought provoking lyrics alongside an indie rock instrumental. This opening track depicts a classic case of self-protective denial and the gap between what we tell ourselves and what our body knows is the truth.

'Miss'

Track two 'Miss' Shows the bands vocal vulnerability yet heavy sound. They perfectly approach the angst of Rock and Roll creating the perfect blend of emotional and electric. Miss depicts the grieving feelings of losing a special someone in your life and all the emotional turmoil of missing them.

'Rabbits Can Swim'

This track brings a slower piano ballad approach to the EP perfectly balancing out the energy of the previous tracks. This release addresses the longing for love and words of affirmation.

'Storm Warnings'

The fourth and final track of the release heads the warnings of the desire for love and what letting it blind you can bring. Its easy to get caught up in the discordant instrumental of this song much like the love story it sets out to portray.
