Track of the week this week comes from Derby based five piece band St Blush, with their latest single release of 'Bruce'.


This track serves as a homage to Bruce Gaines, a significant figure to the band members and the Derby music scene. The loss of Bruce inspired the lyrics to this song as he was a mentor to the bands singer, Bobby. Bobby continues to credit Gaines for shaping the bands and artists who inspire St Blush. The lyrics to this track come from a collaboration of the band and Bruce's own son Ben Gaines, a music producer, songwriter and drummer who has been credited with writing some lyrics and the recording of the drums for this song.


'Bruce' comes with a high energy, upbeat tempo with a slightly dreamy indie atmosphere. This alternative rock track feels energetic in sound, yet still has that element of its emotional and reflective lyrics.
